Why are essential oils so powerful?

Essential oils are one of the richest ingredients in the natural world as they are the essence of plants and owers. Essential oils don't only work when we smell them, by stimulating our senses and our central nervous system through the nose, their application onto the skin also allows the penetration of active ingredients and their entry into the systemic circulation system. With respect to essential oils, three types of properties may be described: cosmetic, therapeutic and psychological (or emotional), which together gives us the unsurpassable power of Mother Nature herself.

What are the properties of essential oils?

The properties of essential oils are derived from natural chemical components that are present in the composition of the oils and found in high concentrations. Each has many different health enefits, and all have antiseptic, regenerating and skin protecting effects. Their pharmacological properties are highly varied and in many cases are specific to each oil; however, generally speaking, all essential oils:

Stimulate the immune system.
Increase cellular regeneration and slow down aging processes.

BULGARIAN ROSE ESSENTIAL OIL 5ml

Bulgarian Rose or Rosa Damascena essential oil is one of the 3 ALQVIMIA jewels, obtained from the purest, most powerful and sublime rose. It imparts a feeling of courage and security. Some 5,000 kg of fresh petals must be collected to obtain 1 Kg. of this majestic Essential Oil.

Roses have always been considered the flower of love in many cultures and religions. In the eyes of the Greeks, the Rose was the flower of Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty; Christian mystics in the Middle Ages considered the Rose the flower of the Virgin, symbol of purity. Therefore it is not strange that the rose is considered the purest flower and, among them, the Damask Rose, the symbol of purity.

Bulgarian Rose Essential Oil is the most marvellous and supreme of all the Essential Oils. It is distilled according to traditional techniques that preserve its extraordinary characteristics and marvellous properties.

Many countries around the world produce rose essential oils, including Morocco, Turkey, Egypt, India, etc. but Bulgaria is, without a doubt, where the most beautiful and supreme rose, the Damask Rose, is grown. The petals are picked at dawn by hand, one-by-one, and 5,000 kg of fresh petals must be picked in order to obtain 1 kg. of this Essential Oil. Therefore, one drop of this essential oil contains the essence of approximately 30 roses.

Neroli Essential Oil (citrus aurantium amara), obtained by steam distilling the flowers of Citrus aurantium (bitter orange).

Neroli Essential Oil is obtained by steam distilling bitter orange floral water. Its quality, therapeutic properties and price are greater than Neroli absolute distilled with Hexane (Solvent). Bitter orange, also called the sour orange, was introduced to Europe, via Spain, by the Arabs in the 10th century. Bitter orange cultivation was mostly centred around the Seville area, where it is still grown in order to obtain Orange Blossom water, used in pharmaceutical, cosmetic and baking products.

Neroli Essential Oil owes its name to Anne Marie de la Tremoille, the princess of Nerola in the 17th century, who introduced the use of this essential oil to Italian high society. The Princess of Nerola used copious amounts of this particular essential oil for her skin, using it to perfume her body, gloves and hats.

Cosmetically, Neroli Essential Oil has stimulating, deodorising, invigorating and activating properties.

It is a highly effective moisturiser and reduces stress.

It is suitable for treating acne.
